It’s adjacent to the Newport Lakes, so you can combine your plant shopping with an excursion to the lake and surrounds to see how your purchases will look when they’ve established themselves in your garden.

I say the nursery business is on the way out because it’s not easy being green!!
Thanx Mr Phelps. And I must say coolbunny, that even james cook understood the importance of botany, which is why they were they, the botanists, were the most important people on the endeavour. Plants will not go out of business, nurseries are safe, but like every business they will need to diversify.
Winnie, Newport is where you change trains from the Werribee line for Williamstown.
The most Australian of plants is the Wollemi Pine, you can grow it in a tub or in the ground. They are expensive, $55. or so, and can be used as a Christmas tree, inside in the tub or outside. They are fascinating and date back to the dinosaurs!
